Agnes Callard
(Maio 2022)

Agnes Callard is Associate Professor of Philosophy at the University of Chicago. She visited Portugal in late 2021 for a series of talks and lectures and Forma de Vida had the opportunity to have a conversation with her and discuss some of her interests, beginning with her important book, Aspiration, published in 2017. Following our interview, and having in mind some of the topics addressed, we organized three sections where we publish texts with different takes on those subjects. We also publish, with the author's permission, three translations of texts written for The Point, where she regularly publishes.

Aakanksha creates drawings/artefacts staying close to the roots of automatism—spontaneous responses to both her environment and subconscious. Weaving words, forms and marks, she intends to put forward her subjective experience of inhabiting a female body and its meaning in current times. She lives and loves in Bangalore, India. Her work can be followed on Instagram and on her website.
